For the debut episode of Beyond Disability Texas, we spoke with Mr. Jacob Ulczynski, LPC, NCC, Senior Director of IDD Services with the Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG). In this in-depth interview with Mr. Ulczynski, we covered a multitude of topics, such as: (1) the explanation of IDD services, (2) how one generally should learn about IDD Services through AACOG, (3) how one applies for IDD Services and what's needed, (4) how to avoid mistakes in the application process, (5) Medicaid Waiver programs such as Home and Community-Based Services (HCS), Texas Home Living (TxHmL), Community Living Assistance and Supported Services (CLASS), Deaf Blind with Multiple Disabilities (DB-MD), and (6) Services provided by IDD Services include Attendant and Habilitation Services, Day Habitation, Employment Assistance, Specialized Therapies, and Supported Employment.
